"Gemini and Pizza Crust"

March 25th, 2022

Hi gang. I hope everyone is well! I figured I'd update you all a little on what I've been up to. Life's been good, I found some new things to explore. First off is Gemini! It's a really neat new internet protocol (HTTP is a protocol you'll know), it's text based and basically lets you put up very simple pages called capsules. It feels like the wild west days of the internet, which is really cool. You can find my gemini in my contact page if you're interested. You do need a seperate browser though. I really like Amfora, but there are less feature heavy browsers too. Hosting is pretty easy, Yesterweb has a space there where you can host for free. And writing the code is dead simple. Like there's no font options or anything so all you gotta do is type and it assumes you want paragraphs. It's kinda hard to explain, I'd reccomend just checking it out! It's nice to write without having to worry much about formatting or cascading style sheets or anything.

Another thing I've been into recently is baking. I made bread the other day and I've currently got some pizza dough rising upstairs. It won't be ready til tomorrow though. It gives life meaning to have little things like that. That's what's been so difficult with my being in treatment for my brain is that I always sort of feel like I'm gonna slide back down the hill. But for now, life is good.

Yours Truly,

Syd Whitty
